We will also be continuing to learn about our Five Senses!
*For homework this week, the children will have a worksheet all about the #2!*

Aside from our prayer that we say daily before snack, the children began learning a prayer to start their school day.
"We give our thanks to Thee today,
For Thou has blessed us in every way.
Help us to do the things we should,
to be to others kind and good.  Amen."

For the month of September we will cover the unit "My School and Me"
The children are learning to work in small center groups, and to work as a team.
-We are learning the different jobs of those in the school, as well as the places we will see in the classroom and around the school.
-We are learning to use attributes to describe our friends.

Letters and Numbers
Each week, we will learn all about a new letter and number.  The children will be able to differentiate between capital and lowercase, tell the sound the letter makes, identify words that begin with the letter, etc...

The children will also be able to count, write, and use 1:1 correspondence for the new number each week.

The children will also learn to underline things, as well as complete various listening activities.

Handwriting Without Tears
The children have begun to work in their Handwriting Without Tears workbooks.  The first few weeks, we will be practicing the correct grip on a pencil/crayon, to make straight and curved lines, to color things in.  Then, we will begin to dive into the correct formation of letters!
